Genyen Mountain. Genyen is best experienced by trekking. The Genyen area is isolated, not many people go there. During the trek we meet many different cultures and spend time with the nomad communities. The monasteries in the area are very special since they were founded by the first Karmapa. Guru rinpoche and other important historical figures are said to have meditated in caves in the Genyen area. There are many beautiful lakes in this area and wild flowers are plentiful. Local people claim to have seen visions in the reflections of these lakes. This camping trek can be 5 to 14 days. During the trek we participate in making butter, cooking and yak herding with local communities.
