Rawuk Tso is a high alpine lake situated 2 days drive east of Lhasa. at the south-eastern end of the  Kangri Karpo Mountains  – the eastern end of the Nyainqêntanglha Range in Eastern Tibet. The glaciers that feed into Rawuk Tso are the biggest in the area and provide spectacular views on a clear day. The Parlung Tsangpo (river) runs from the lake and forms an incredible valley snaking down past high mountain peaks to the dramatic gorges of the Po Tsangpo.  I love this area because of its incredible diversity of thick conifer forests, raging rivers and snowy high peaks.  I’ve spent many weeks exploring the surrounding valleys, hiking trails and rivers.  Its not the “Tibet” that everyone imagines – its more like the Canadian Rockies!
