Kham
The Kham region of Tibet includes the northern Yunnan, western Sichuan and parts of Qinghai and Gansu provinces. Gyalthang (Tibetan name), also known as Shangrila (formerly Zhongdian) in Chinese, is the gateway city to the Kham region.

Three sacred mountains circuit of Mt Risum Gompo
My favorite trek is the outer kora (circuit) of Mt. Risum Gompo with the sacred mountains of Chenrezig, Jambeyang and Chana Dorje. There is an immense beauty of nature, both small and large: the alpine flowers and the symmetry of three sacred mountains and oracle lakes.

Trola Range
I have a number of mountain ranges I enjoy exploring and returning to across Tibet, but my favorite is the Trola Range in East Tibet.
